DEAFHEAVEN’s sophomore album, Sunbather [2013 – Deathwish Inc.] blew the gates open and became a favorite immediately among fans and critics alike. Taking the lead with a newer subgenre within the subgenre of post-metal, dubbed “blackgaze” with their harrowing merge of atmospheric black metal, shoegaze, and raw emotion. Sunbather turns 10 this year and to mark the occasion, the band is not only reissuing the album, they are also setting out on a special tour with Touché Amoré.
Nick Steinhardt, guitarist of Touché Amoré, designed Sunbather‘s iconic artwork and typeface. With the 10-Year Anniversary edition of Sunbather, original producer Jack Shirley (Loma Prieta, Bosse-de-Nage, Whirr) remixed and remastered the album – adding a decade’s worth of ear and knowledge to an already stellar production.
