Always morphing, WAKE has avoided repeating themselves album to album while they curate grind-infused death metal. The juggernauts from Alberta released album number six last year, Thought Form Descent (2022 – Metal Blade) following the Confluence EP released in 2020 (Translation Loss), and have been touring since to support the effort.

The band once again collaborated with Dave Otero (Allegaeon, Cattle Decapitation) at Flatline Audio in Denver, Colorado to record Thought Form Descent. Kevin Hufnagel of Gorguts also makes an appearance, playing guitar on “Pareidolia” and “Observer To Master,” the latter track one of the most melodic on the record.
