Boston’s post-metal titans JUNIUS graced the stage to welcome Uniform to town, accompanied by the debut performance by Marilith – an experimental solo project by Cave In‘s John-Robert Conners. The band brought back “Transcend the Ghost” for the set, a beautiful and crushing song to experience in a live setting. The rockers recently offered an acoustic version of the song featuring vocalist/guitarist Joseph E. Martinez‘s daughter adding additional vocals, the music video for it is below.
JUNIUS, a little less recently but still fairly recent, reissued their 2004 album Forcing Out the Silence and 2006’s Blood is Bright under a new title, Volume 1. Not only that but a 10-year anniversary reissue of their critically acclaimed album The Martyrdom of a Catastrophist. For this re-issue, the album was remixed by Tom Syrowski, who mixed Mastodon’s Grammy-winning album The Emperor of Sand together with Brendon O’Brian and remastered by Billy Bowers (Chris Cornell, Pearl Jam, Mastodon). All the artwork has been redesigned and comes in a very special gatefold sleeve with stunning large-surface hot foil embossing. Rumor has it they have been working on new material.
