Before I begin, this is not something I would normally listen to. So perhaps my opinion on this should be taken with a grain of salt, since this isn’t my cup of tea. The techno-ish electronics that appear in all of their songs becomes distracting at times, only seems fitting here and there, and at other moments just seems to be there just to be there. Then we have the very melodic, clean vocals bouncing back and forth with coarse screams. I would actually like them a bit better if they stuck with one or the other, as Chris Hutka (The Bear) clean vocals aren’t bad and I’m a fan of the “give-it-all-you-got” hoarse vocals done by Matthew Tybor (The Bunny). Though The Stomach For It made me think they were a collection of songs that Bring Me The Horizon wrote then decided to scrap and The Bunny The Bear rummaged through their barrels to salvage and make their own, a couple songs did grab my attention, notably “All Birds,” “Lonely, Lonely, Lonely” and “I’m Scared Now.” They managed to pull everything together on these two tracks to create very catchy and well structured diddies. All the other tracks just sounded like standard post-hardcore with techno. This is what kids like? I don’t get it.
