How long have you been modeling?
Four years. I did my first shoot in September of 2008 at FNS Studios in Indian Orchard, MA.
What made you get into it?
I was drafted! Lesley Arak, who owns FNS Studios, saw me randomly at a trivia night at a local bar. She asked one of our mutual friends if I’d ever modeled before and wanted to know if I’d be interested in shooting with her. I was really surprised because modeling is something I never even considered doing. A month later, I was at the studio.
Any notable publications or projects you have been apart of?
My most notable achievement was being chosen as Editor’s Pick for STUFF Magazine’s Boston’s Sexiest 2011. I entered the contest on a whim and thought I didn’t stand a chance because I don’t live in Boston. Lo and behold! Shaquille O’Neal and his wife were at the shoot. Other than that, I’ve been featured on inkedgirls.com and am currently waiting to hear about possible work as a Narragansett Girl.
What are three bands you have been listening to a lot lately?
I keep it old school when it comes to music and have been rather disappointed with the new stuff that’s out there, so I’ve been listening to a lot of The Chariot and Glassjaw and (Anthony Green’s) Saosin.
First concert you’ve ever gone to?
I believe it was The Pop Disaster Tour in 2002 featuring Saves The Day, Blink182 and Green Day.
What’s something crazy or surreal you have experienced?
One of the most surreal experience I’ve had was at the launch party for the STUFF Magazine issue I was featured in. Keep in mind I grew up in a very small town where everyone knows everyone else, so being at this massive red carpet event in the heart of Boston was pretty interesting. I had people coming up to me and saying “Hey, you’re Emily, right?” My initial reaction was “Yes, have we met?” because it didn’t fully sink in that no, we hadn’t met, they recognized me from the magazine. I must admit, I felt a little like a celebrity.

Do you play an instrument or sing?
No instruments, but I do sing. I’ve been doing musical theater since I was eight-years old and have performed in over a dozen shows. I also rock karaoke like a champ.
What is a big turn on for you?
Nice teeth and a pair of worn out Chuck Taylors.
I moonlight as a seamstress, so I often custom tailor/make my own clothes. I’m also a tomboy at heart, so when the weather is warm, I tend to rock board shorts, a cami and tube socks. This winter I’ve been really into making my own skirts and leg warmers, which I wear with leggings and various button-ups. That’s my style in a nutshell and I feel my best while wearing it.
Lace. Sometimes you just gotta take the edge off.
Star Wars or Star Trek?
I hate this question! They are two completely different stories with completely different characters in completely different galaxies, far, far away. The original Star Wars series definitely has its merits and I am a fan, but my heart belongs to Star Trek: The Next Generation. Why? Two words: Riker’s beard. ‘Nuff said.
