BLACK TUSK, THY WILL BE DONE, RED FANG Added to METALLICA’s Orion Fest

As stated on the official Orion Music + More website, “METALLICA has invited 22+ of their favorite artists from across the music and comedy spectrum to the inaugural Orion Music + More. More than just music, the festival will also feature a lifestyle element showcasing the band’s individual interests – and allowing fans to interact directly with each of the band members.”

THY WILL BE DONE commented:

“It is quite difficult to describe the feelings we are all so overwhelmed with right now. We are sincerely honored for METALLICA to have selected us to perform at the Orion Music + More event this year. This is something that each band member has only dreamed of and always wanted to do in one form or another. METALLICA is the biggest influence we each share that got us all started on our musical paths.” states vocalist J. Costa. “Thank you for so many things, beyond words, Jose Mangin (SiriusXM, MTV2) for suggesting THY WILL BE DONE to James Hetfield and thank you METALLICA!”

BLACK TUSK drummer James May said:

“We are honored to play the first Orion Fest. Metallica has always been an influence for our band. This is yet another contribution they are making for music, not just metal.”

Bassist Aaron Beam of RED FANG  spoke about being added to the festival:

“I was surprised but of course utterly THRILLED to be asked to play the “Orion Music + More Festival”. Metallica is one of the first and biggest musical influences in my life. If we had not been invited, I would have bought tickets and flown out. Apart from Metallica playing two of their most important albums, the lineup for the festival is extremely impressive on its own and I love its unpredictable span of genres.”

SUICIDAL TENDENCIES, SEPULTURA, TORCHE, LANDMINE MARATHON, and KYNG will also be performing.  METALLICA will be headlining both nights, in celebration to the 20th anniversary of the ‘Black Album’ by playing it in its entirety on one night AND all of Ride the Lightning for the first time ever on the other night! This will be the only North American performances of these albums in 2012.  The festival will be held in Atlantic City, New Jersey at Bader Field on June 23rd and June 24th.
