4’o’Clock Slam: ANALEPSY

4’o’Clock Slam is a reoccurring segment every Wednesday at 4:00pm (EST) where we offer the best in slam, brutal death metal, goregrind, and other acquired tastes at the extremes of the death metal spectrum.

ANALEPSY, were formed in late 2013 by the ex-Formaldehyde vocalist Ricardo Proença and Brutal Brain Damage’s guitarist Marco Martins. Completing the lineup is Flávio Pereira on bass, Diogo Santana providing lead guitar and backing vocals, and ex-Atheos God’s drummer Tiago Correia. 

The band released the “Genetic Mutations” single in May of 2014, but it wasn’t until their EP Dehumanization by Supremacy that would capture the attention of the world, easy one of the best slam death metal albums of 2015. A co-release between Vomit Your Shirt and Rotten Cemetery Records, Dehumanization by Supremacy, saw distribution in the USA through Sevared Records.

Having played dozens of shows and festivals throughout Europe, the Portuguese outfit will return this September with a new album.
